Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions owners and teams ask most.

On this page

Does Duke change things without asking me?

No. When you ask Duke to change something, it shows you what it'll do and waits for you to approve it. The only things it does on its own are the ones you switched on for Duke on duty, such as answering customers, saving their details, booking and handing over. Even then: never money, cancellations, deletes or bulk messages. See What Duke never does on its own.

Can Duke see everything in my business?

Duke sees only what the person asking it is allowed to see. A front-desk person asking Duke gets answers from what the front desk can see, nothing more. See Roles & permissions.

Can I call it something other than Duke?

Yes. Owners can change the AI assistant name in Settings → Brand. Your team and customers then see your name for it everywhere.

Can I rename the menu, or call my customers “members”?

Yes. Use the menu editor to rename and arrange pages. Words like “members” or “students” are set for your type of business when DukeOS is set up.

Can I use DukeOS on my phone?

Yes. DukeOS works in your phone's browser, with the menu behind the Open menu button. Your customers can add the customer app to their home screen.

Can my customers pay online?

Yes. Connect your own Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay or PayU account and customers can pay invoices from a payment link, pay when they book or order on your website, and renew in the customer app. The money goes to your account. See Online payments.

Does Duke answer phone calls?

Not yet. Duke answers customers on WhatsApp today.

Does DukeOS include a website and an online shop?

Yes. Every business gets a public website built from sections, with a shop, class booking and forms that land in your app. See Your website.

Is DukeOS a till or accounting software?

No. DukeOS doesn't include point of sale, a ledger or payroll. It does have Sales (quotes and orders), Invoicing and Inventory.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, any time: Settings → Data → Export gives you everything as one ZIP file. See Data export.

What does it cost?

Plans are priced per business, not per person: Starter (up to 3 team members, one location), Growth (up to 10, two branches, Duke on duty, goals and AI agents) and Pro (up to 25, unlimited branches, your own domain). Every app is in every plan, and yearly billing gives two months free. See our pricing and Billing and your plan.

What happens if I stop paying?

After a 7-day grace period the business becomes read-only: you can still see everything, but not change it, until the invoice is paid. See Billing and your plan.

Can I try it before I sign up?

Yes. Open a live demo and sign in with one of the role buttons. Demos are made-up businesses, rebuilt every night. See Demo businesses.
