Finding your way: the menu, search and Settings

The menu, the top bar (search, Ask Duke, Create, the bell), your account menu, and what's in Settings.

On this page

The menu

The menu on the left lists the pages you can use. At the top are the Dashboard, Assistant, Insights and Duke's work. Then come the same groups in every business, each showing only the apps you use:

GroupFor example
Customers & SalesContacts, Leads, Companies, Tasks, Quotes and orders
Messages & MarketingInbox, WhatsApp and email, Forms, your Website
MoneyInvoices and payments
Daily workMy tasks, Schedule, Projects, Documents, Team chat
Products & ShopProducts and stock
Members & TeamMemberships, Check-in, Help desk, and Team, Shifts, Timesheets, Leave and My day
ReportsYour reports
Your pagesThe custom pages you made

The people group uses your business's word for your customers, for example Students & Team in a tutoring centre or Patients & Team in a clinic.

Your menu only shows what your role allows. Owners can rename, reorder, group and hide items for everyone with the menu editor.

At the bottom of the menu:

  • AI credits: how much of this month's AI credits you've used and when they reset. Click it to open Duke's settings. See AI credits.
  • Your name: opens Your account, Plan and billing, Settings, Appearance (Light, Dark or Match my device) and Sign out.

On a phone or tablet, tap Open menu at the top left to see the menu.

The top bar

  • Search: click it or press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) to find people and pages, create something, or ask Duke. Press Esc to close it.
  • Ask Duke: opens Duke's chat panel next to the page you're on. See Asking Duke.
  • Create (+): start something new: a contact, lead, membership, sale, quote, support ticket, project, product, document or agent (whatever your role allows).
  • The bell: your notifications and approvals waiting. See Notifications.
  • The gear: Settings.

Settings

Settings is one page with everything about your business, in the same groups as the menu. You can change things here, or just ask Duke (for example “Add a branch called Indiranagar”). Use the search box to find a setting quickly. A Needs attention box points out anything to fix, such as a WhatsApp problem or a domain waiting for its DNS records.

SectionWhat's in it
Core (always on)Business (details, brand, web address, branches), Team (people, jobs, roles, leave, holidays, clock-in and two-step sign-in) and Plan and billing
1. Customers & Sales to 6. Members & TeamOne row per app, with its on/off switch and its own settings: pipelines, membership plans, class types, appointments, product categories, WhatsApp, message templates…
7. Duke & your data (always on)Duke (AI model, credits and Duke on duty), extra fields, your own pages, words, and your data: import, export, audit log, API keys

Every settings page starts with a trail back, such as Settings › Schedule › Class types. You only see the settings your role can use.

Switch apps on and off

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Find the app in its group and turn it on or off with its switch. Switching off asks first and says that the data is kept.

Some apps need others (for example Attendance needs Memberships). Turning an app off hides it but keeps its data. Not in your plan means your plan doesn't include it, with Upgrade next to it. See Billing and your plan.

Team is always on. Team chat, Leave and the other apps can be switched off if you don't use them.

Still stuck?

Ask Duke inside the app, or write to us and a person will help.
