01Duke in WhatsApp

Duke answers your number at 11 pm.

Put Duke on duty on your WhatsApp and it replies to customers who write to you, from what you've told it. In the app, it drafts replies and template messages for you to send.

Who decides

  • On its own, by your ruleDuke on duty does it for the customer who wrote, once you switch that action on.
  • Waits for your approvalIt prepares it and shows a one-line preview. Nothing changes until you approve.
  • Always a personNever done on a rule or on its own: a person with the right role decides.
Meet Duke
01On its own, by your rule

Customers answered, any hour.

On duty, Duke replies to people who wrote first, about their own business with you. It starts on drafts your team sends with one tap, until you let it answer on its own.

Duke on WhatsAppHi Leila! Yes, free parking behind the building after 5 pm. Anything else I can help with?
02Waits for your approval

Replies drafted inside the 24 hours.

Ask Duke to answer a customer in your words. It writes it, and you approve the exact text before it's sent.

Tell Priya yes, and to arrive 10 minutes early.

Your own number

The official API, not a workaround.

Each business connects its own WhatsApp Business number on Meta's Cloud API. Your access token is stored encrypted and only its last four characters are ever shown.

With Duke: Duke on duty answers on this same number, under your assistant's name.

On the customer's page

Every message where you'd look for it.

Incoming and outgoing messages sit on the contact's Messages card, with a composer right there. A number you've never seen becomes a contact on its own, and numbers are saved in international format.

With Duke: it reads a customer's message history before drafting, if your role may read it.

It is, Jordan. You have one of the last two places.

Automations and agents

Templates that send themselves, when you say so.

An automation can send an approved WhatsApp template as one of its steps. An AI agent can be allowed to send approved templates on its own, up to a limit per run, as long as the message is entirely your template with no words written by the AI.

Templates and the 24-hour window

Start with a template, then just talk.

Meta asks that a new conversation opens with an approved template. Once the customer writes back, you can reply in your own words for 24 hours. Submit templates to Meta from inside DukeOS and follow their review.

04Questions

WhatsApp: common questions

Is this the official WhatsApp Business API?

Yes. DukeOS connects your own WhatsApp Business number through Meta's official Cloud API. Messages go out from your number, delivery ticks and replies come back into DukeOS, and every conversation is kept on the customer's page beside their bookings, invoices and notes.

Why do I need a template to start a conversation?

Meta asks that a new WhatsApp conversation opens with an approved template. In DukeOS you write templates, submit them to Meta and follow their review from the same screen. Once the customer writes back, you can reply in your own words for 24 hours after their last message.

Can I send WhatsApp messages to many customers at once?

Yes, with a person deciding. In DukeOS, starting a chat or messaging many people always needs someone to approve it. An automation can send an approved template as a step, and an AI agent can send approved templates on its own up to a limit per run, as long as no words are written by the AI.

Can the AI reply to customers on WhatsApp by itself?

Yes, on the Growth plan and above. With Duke on duty, DukeOS's AI assistant replies to people who wrote first, about their own business with you. It starts on drafts your team sends with one tap until you let it answer on its own, and hands money questions and anything unusual to a person.
