What is an AI agent for a small business?
An AI agent is software that does a job rather than answering one question. You give it a goal and the tools it may use, and it works through the steps. In DukeOS an agent is a job written in plain words, a list of tools it may use (never more than your own) and a schedule. It works as you, so it can only see and change what you can, and its changes wait for your approval.
What can AI agents do for my business?
Common jobs: find leads with no follow-up and draft one for each; list memberships ending this week and prepare renewal reminders; chase unpaid invoices politely; flag products running low and suggest an order; summarise the week for the owner. You can also set Duke a goal, such as 30 renewals by month end, and it plans the steps and tells you honestly how it is going.
Can an AI agent work as a receptionist on WhatsApp?

How do I stay in control?
Agents propose; people approve. Every create, update, delete or message an agent prepares is shown to you first, grouped so you can approve many in one tap, and recorded in the audit log with who approved it. An agent never has more permissions than its owner, and cannot change settings, automations or other agents. Test runs keep nothing.

Are AI agents safe to use with customer data?
They work with the same permissions as their owner and see only what that person may see. Changes and messages wait for approval, every action is audited, and each business's data is kept apart inside the database itself.
Can an agent send messages on its own?
Only in one narrow case you switch on: messages that are entirely your own approved templates, with no words from the AI, up to a limit per run. Anything else waits for your approval.
Do I need to write prompts or code?
No. Describe the job as you would to a new member of staff. Duke turns it into an agent with the right tools and a schedule, and you can do a test run that keeps nothing before switching it on.
Which plan includes AI agents?
Growth ($99 a month) and Pro ($199 a month) include AI agents, goals and Duke on duty. Starter ($49) includes Duke the assistant, who answers questions, drafts and prepares changes when you ask.
